Position Summary
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
General responsibilities include:
- Supports the delivery of growths in revenue, gross margin and market share for Critical Care and bariatric beds, as well as potential US surface platform derivatives going to International markets within the geographical markets served by Hill-Rom International - specifically Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Australia - through the development and enhancements of his/her products.
- Lead the development, adaptation and implementation of key marketing and sales strategies through the timely and qualitative execution of marketing activities in the product development process.
- Supports the Strategic & NPD Director in the development of marketing and sales strategies on a Pan-Divisional and Company wide basis to maximize growth and profitability for a specific segment/market.
Specific responsibilities include
- Develop sound understanding of local market trends, customer needs and competitor activities.
- Coordinates VOC activities with R&D to develop the market understanding in engineering. Close alignment with R&D in research for new technologies that would enable better product positioning and/or differentiation in the market.
- Support the development of Marketing strategies to create product synergies in overlapping segments in close cooperation with the other Strategic Marketing & NPD Directors.
- Leads competitive tear down and product analysis. Participates in the development of competitive product positioning and sales stories .
- Ensure, in coordination with the Director, that the correct product portfolios are established in his/her segment through prioritization, collaboration and support with the R&D team. Ensure that customer, market and competitor knowledge are fed into the Concept Development and New Product Development teams to ensure customer and business needs are met or exceeded with each R&D initiative and that international requirements are properly represented in Product developments, enhancements and modifications.
- Ensure that specifications, development and launch of new medical products into the International market place deliver the expected revenue and margin growth for his/her projects.
- Execute on all the Marketing related activities of the PDP process until Gate 3 and Commercial Release of a project.
- Support the development of launch plans for new products to include value propositions, competitive positioning, promotional materials and other sales tools (including translations), pricing strategies, product presentations, train the trainer execution and follow up to include corrective actions where required. The launch plans will be adapted to each market and geography requirements.
- Develop pricing strategies and relevant cost/margin models that maximise market and gross margin growth for his/her projects (in close consultation with finance control function, sales function and engineering function).
REQUIREMENTS FOR JOB HOLDER
Professional Requirements
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years’ experience in a R&D or marketing position for medical products. An International experience would be an advantage, along with capital medical products experience. Product Development experience is required.
- This position will be located in Batesville, IN with close collaboration with the R&D and Manufacturing Teams. There will be international travel involved.
- Record of achievement of key product development projects or marketing plans through liaison with personnel in different markets.
- Degree, preferably but not necessarily in Marketing/Business related subject. A supplemental engineering degree would be an advantage.
- Experience of effective management of projects and budgets.
