JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the electro/mechanical assembly of products to support current production lines and/or sales orders for the field service organization. Operators will be crossed trained between product lines and must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to all Hill-Rom Essential Safety Principles.
  • Adhere to all Quality System Standards.
  • Accurately assemble complex electrical and mechanical assemblies utilizing verbal instructions, written Operator Instructions, engineering drawings and boundary samples.
  • Assemble products within established operator cycle times.
  • Test components and complete assemblies using calibrated test and measuring equipment.
  • Prepare required written documentation, i.e. Product Acceptance Records, Nonconforming Material Reports.
  • Assist in on-the-job training of other employees.
  • Participate in Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery improvements.

    SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibility.

  • Job Requirements and Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and understand Safety Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use calibrated test and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to complete routine forms, i.e. Non-Conforming Material Report.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with work group.
  • Ability to apply problem solving techniques to troubleshoot and repair electro/mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision. Will work under the immediate direction of a Production Lead Person.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Employee must be able to work while exposed to minimum levels of Radio Frequency energy.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
